GREAT MOUSE WHEN USED CORRECTLY May 11, 2008 William Faulkner's Friend 40 out of 40 found this review helpful
I don't usually don't take the time to rate products, but I really like this mouse and noticed that some others had problems with it while others loved it. Here's my bottom line on it:
1) DOES NOT FEEL CHEAPLY MADE -- to the contrary, feels heavier and more substantial than the previous Logitech corded laser mice I have owned; I have used it for 6 months or more and the feet are not coming off or anything like that. So I really don't know what other reviewers are talking about here, unless they are used to some kind of high-end heavy duty mouse or something. Looking at my mouse, it would take an effort to physically take the feet off of it, so I can't understand the "separating feet" comment either.
2) WIRELESS RANGE CAN BE AN ISSUE -- some of the other reviews mention this mouse has "jerky" behaviour. I had the same problem until I moved the USB receiver from my PC tower (which was under the desk) to a USB hub I have on my desktop that is closer to the mouse. So jerkiness is not an inherent problem with this mouse, but you DO need to be able to place the USB receiver module in close enough proximity to the mouse to ensure you don't have this problem.
3) WORKS GREAT WITH WINDOWS XP -- some reviewers had problem using this mouse with one of the MAC operating systems. I can't comment on this, but I had absolutely no problem or trouble using this with Windows XP. Was a seamless process.
4) GREAT PRICE -- I think $39 at Amazon is a great price for what you're getting here. Some of the other cordless mice are over $100, so logically these more expensive mice have to be better/more features in some respects or they are taking you to the cleaners! But this mouse meets all the requirements I have for a mouse.
A bigger VX Revolution February 28, 2008 Matt (Illinois) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I own a VX Revolution and this mouse, and this one is basically a larger version of the VX revolution which is exactly what I was looking for my desktop. It feels comfortable, and I love the hyper-scrolling wheel.
Fantastic Wireless Mouse, buy this today! January 14, 2009 Michael Weida (Houston, TX United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I love this mouse, it uses "fast RF" technology, not Bluetooth, to connect to a small USB receiver. The scroll wheel has adjustable firmness, which allows you to either scroll through a couple lines at a time, or through many pages in seconds.
The laser for this mouse is invisible, which is good for people who hate the bright red LEDs of optical mice.
The mouse worked instantly when connected to my PC running Windows Vista. Optional software can be installed from Logitech to take advantage of various customization choices (button assignments, on-screen battery indicator, etc.).
A button on the bottom can be used to turn off the mouse when not in use to conserve battery life. Logitech states the batteries will last for 1 year, and two Duracell AA batteries were included in the package. Nice. A battery indicator LED on the mouse shows when it's time to swap out those cells, which I haven't had to do yet after one month of ownership.
I bought this mouse to replace a Microsoft Blutooth mouse that was part of the "MS Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth" which was ALWAYS dropping its connection and for which I had to recharge NiMH batteries every few weeks.
This mouse was worth every penny, I would highly recommend it to right-handers looking for a simple, elegant mouse that will provide them with many years of happy mousing.
EDIT: Here I am in the beginning of September, and the low battery light finally came on! These batteries have been in constant use (maybe 5 hours+ per day) since December 2008. The battery level states that I have 30 days left to replace the AA batteries.
Logitech Mouse With Lots of Features September 5, 2007 Irvin M. Haas (Indianapolis, IN USA) 8 out of 10 found this review helpful
The MX620 is one of Logitech's newest mice and is loaded with features. This includes a fast scroll wheel, battery meter light and programmability for 5 buttons (although it has 6).
I use this mouse with a Mac and was skeptical of other reviews here which stated that the mouse could not be programmed with Macs. These reviews were posted before Logitech offered an updated download dated July 7, 2007. I downloaded these drivers and was perfectly able to program the mouse to perform keystrokes, open applications, etc.
One of the coolest features is that it has a "Search" button which lets you open your favorite search engine. For Macs, this is programmed by default for "Spotlight" but you have the option of changing it.
All-in-all a mouse loaded with almost all the bells-and-whistles you will ever need--even with Macs!
Great Mouse January 22, 2008 D. Morriss (Sarasota, FL United States) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've been searching for a suitable mouse to replace one that stopped working properly some while ago. Wired? WIreless? Gamer level? Laser? Usually, it winds up as a dollar issue. This mouse was on deep sale when I bought it; otherwise I would not have purchased based on the negative reviews it's gotten (many of those are Mac users)... it's worked flawlessly, smoothly, perfectly. The programmable features are really handy and the tracking is perfect. Go figure.
If you see it on sale, buy it. It also has a long warranty. Five years on hardware. Better than most cars.
